Nabita Shrestha, a pioneer in Nepali Table Tennis, shines as a nine-time national champion in the sport. Her accolades include consecutive victories in the women’s singles category from 2067 to 2080 (Nepali Calendar), showcasing unmatched skill and resilience. Nabita has also left her mark on the international stage, participating in prestigious events like the South Asian Games, Asian Games, World Table Tennis Championship, and Asian Championship.
The decision to partner with Nabita Shrestha aligns with UTS’s history of backing athletes representing Nepal in esteemed international competitions. Mr. Suryansh Vaidya, Director of UTS, expressed confidence in Nabita’s potential success, highlighting her resilient attitude towards sporting excellence.
Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, President of the Nepal Olympics Committee (NOC), praised UTS for its support of local athletes. This collaboration makes Nabita the first Nepali player to represent a globally renowned brand. She will join over 200 other athletes worldwide as part of Toyota’s Global Team Toyota Athlete (GTTA) under the ‘Start Your Impossible’ initiative. This initiative showcases real-life mobility stories of athletes embodying values like humility, hard work, and perseverance.
Hailing from Kirtipur, Nabita’s journey extends beyond the sports realm. She epitomizes success, balancing family responsibilities while pursuing an exceptional sporting career. Her commitment transcends the game, actively engaging in social work, from aiding
earthquake victims to supporting children with AIDS. Her initiative focuses on fostering connections among aspiring athletes by challenging gender stereotypes.
